Barn Owls have always fascinated me. They are so delicate and tiny and yet very efficient hunters. Their silence in flight makes them all the more mysterious. Wire lends itself to his subject as it too is light and working sparingly with the material not only creates the light translucent appearance but suggests a delicate vulnerability too.
Here I have displayed the Barn Owl on a very old piece of wood sourced from a reclamation yard. These are cheap but it’s worth it to showcase the subject. This particular Owl sold at Bothy Vineyard Exhibition in 2018. Normally the post isn’t included unless specifically requested, at a price.
